The ftpg. has a two column head: "Boycott Leader Rev. King Stabbed in Harlem Store" with subhead: "Barely Escapes Death in Woman's Attack" which includes a photos of King, showing the letter opener protruding from his chest (see). He was just 28 years old at the time, and this event was not commonly reported on the front page as his fame as a civil rights leader was yet to become commonly known.
