May 22, 1793
COLUMBIAN CENTINEL EXTRAORDINARY, (Boston), May 22, 1793  A small size, four page "Extra" issue which has on the ftpg. a nice: "Declaration of Monsieur, as Regent of France", being an assertion that the recently beheaded King Louis XVI should be succeeded by his son, Louis XVII, along with the restoration of the monarchy. Near the beginning is: "The fierce usurpers of the sovereign authority of France having on the 21 of the present month of Jan. laid violent hands on, & barbarously murdered our dearly beloved brother and Sovereign, the King, Louis the XVI...We declare that the Dauphin, Louis Charles...under the name of Louis XVIIth...We are likewise determined & resolved to effect the re-establishment of the French Monarch..." with more (see).
Most of the balance of the issue is taken up with ads. Very wide, untrimmed margins, although folded close at the spine giving very little spine margin. Very nice condition.
