GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE (with plate), London, July, 1780

A very historic letter signed in type: H. Clinton, begins: "I had the honor in my dispatch by the Earl of Lincoln to communicate to your Lordship the surrender of Charlestown...", then proceeding to give the details of the battle, followed by the list of "Total Rebel Forces commanded by Gen. Lincoln at the Surrender of Charles-town now prisoners of War". A very historic item. Also contains a letter detailing Tarleton's destruction of a Virginia regiment at Waxhaw, South Carolina, signed in type: Gen. Tarleton, and including the "return of the rebels killed, wounded & taken, in the affair at Wacsaw". Other items on the Revolutionary War as well. This issue still contains the foldout plate titled "View of a Bridge of a Singular Construction..." Nice condition.
